ALAMEDA COUNTY

30 July  In Hayward at Hayward Regional Shoreline, a Sabine's Gull was seen flying in from the bay and east over the ponds, disappearing west of the visitor's center, where the trail meets the shoreline of the bay.  Mike Feighner

23 July  In Alameda on the south end of Crown Memorial State Beach, there were 2 Baird's SandpipersAl DeMartini

10 July  In Fremont at Coyote Hills Regional Park, the two flamingos were spotted along the eastern side of the bay between the Dumbarton and San Mateo bridges.  Suzanne Barrows(?)

5 July  In Fremont at Coyote Hills Regional Park, two flamingos thought to be either Eurasian Greater Flamingos or Chilian Flamingos (and of course presumed to be escapees) were in the salt ponds on the west side of the hill, toward the north end of the pond. Take the Nike Trail and scan the ponds to the north.  Dave Weber


CONTRA COSTA COUNTY

6 July  In the Berkeley Hills at Tilden Nature Area (in Tilden Regional Park), a female Hooded Warbler was along the Lower Packrat Trail near Jewel Lake. As you head toward the lake there are some steps and the bird was just before there.  David Vander Pluym
