ALAMEDA COUNTY

21 February  In Oakland, the Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrow continues to be seen at Arrowhead Marsh in Martin Luther King Jr Regional Shoreline at high tide, which was at noon. The bird was seen on a triangular island to the west of the boardwalk, near a piece of concrete on the righthand side of the island. Earlier, a Swamp Sparrow was seen at the end of the boardwalk.  Alan Hopkins

8 February  In Hayward, 2 male and 2 female Hooded Mergansers were in Garin Regional Park.  Tim Mouter

4 February  In Berkeley, an Eastern Fox Sparrow was in a private yard at the corner of Yolo & Milvia Sts.  Helen Green

1 February  In Oakland at Arrowhead Marsh in Martin Luther King Jr Regional Shoreline, a Swamp Sparrow was in the brush at the edge of the land 75 yards east of the boardwalk.  Bob Brandriff

29 February  Near Byron, the Snow Bunting at Clifton Court Forebay was refound near the parking lot around noon. The bird was seen as early as 7 AMLuke Cole

27 February  Near Byron, there was a Snow Bunting at Clifton Court Forebay.  Akira So

23 February  Just east of Martinez and Hwy 680, several Great-tailed Grackles were in the marsh beyond the railroad tracks, north of Waterfront Rd, at McNabney Marsh (northwest of Waterbird Regional Preserve).  Jean Richmond
