ALAMEDA COUNTY

18 & 19 March  In Alameda, a male Wood Duck was guarding a female Mallard in Harbor Bay Lagoon. From the pizza place to the left of the parking lot entrance, take the trail to the lagoon.  Sue Gallagher

9 March  Near Sunol, the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker at Sunol Regional Wilderness was seen again near the brown metal bridge south of the building with the porch.  Mike Feighner

9 March  Near Sunol, a male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was at Sunol Regional Wilderness. Enter the parking lot at the main entrance. From there you'll see some small buildings with live oak trees behind them. The bird was working the tree behind the small building with a porch, which is close to a metal bridge across the creek.  George Bing


CONTRA COSTA COUNTY

23 March  In Lafayette, a male Indigo Bunting returned to a feeder at a private residence. It had frequently visited the feeder from February 2 to March 12.  Maury Stern

10 March  In Richmond, a male Eurasian Wigeon was on the south side of Point Pinole. Six Black Oystercatchers were also in the area.  Al DeMartini
