30 June Along Patterson Pass Rd east of Livermore, a Yellow-breasted Chat was at mile marker (MM) 4.4 in poison oak on a hillside. A Hooded Oriole was at MM 5.4, a male Blue Grosbeak at MM 6.4, a Burrowing Owl at MM 7.1, and a Common Snipe at the railroad crossing. Rich Cimino

5 June In the Oakland Hills, a pair of Rose-breasted Grosbeaks was found in Redwood Regional Park near the Skyline Gate, a few hundred yards down the trail from the parking area. Gordon Bennett
4 June Near Byron, 7 Lesser Nighthawks were seen at 8:30 to 8:45 PM. From Hwy J4, take Camino Diablo east half a mile. At its end, scan the fields to south and east. Hugh Harvey
1 June On Mount Diablo, a Yellow-breasted Chat was found about a quarter-mile up the Mitchell Canyon Trail, in a draw to the right. One or two Phainopepla also were in the area. Jay Withgott
