ALAMEDA COUNTY

25 July  In Fremont, a Black Skimmer was seen at Coyote Hills Regional Park from the observation platform at the west end of the trail. John Hutz

25 July  In Hayward, the summering Arctic Tern and 2 Black Skimmers were near Johnson's Landing at Hayward Shoreline. Two Red Knots, several Whimbrels, and an alternate-plumaged Dunlin also were present. Kirk Swenson

15 July  In Berkeley, a male Rufous Hummingbird was at the University of California Botanical Gardens, near bed 360 in the Mesoamerican section. [The Gardens are on Centennial Dr east of the campus, between the football stadium and the Lawrence Hall of Scence. There is an admission fee.] Ralph Hunter

8 July  In Berkeley, a Bar-tailed Godwit was reported from the beach south of the demolition yard that is immediately south of the Berkeley Marina. Bo Miller

5 July  In Berkeley, a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak continues to come to the feeder in the front yard at 1061 Park Hills Rd. It usually comes in briefly three or four times a day, mostly between 10 AM and 6 PM. Bob Brandriff
