ALAMEDA COUNTY

30 September  In Albany, an unusual and unidentified peep with black legs and orange striping on the upper breast was on the Albany Mudflats. Brian Fitch

30 September  In Berkeley, a female Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, a Red-breasted Sapsucker, and a Willow Flycatcher were at the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens. Bo Soderstrom

27 September  In Berkeley, a Chestnut-sided Warbler, 2 Willow Flycatchers, and a Red-breasted Sapsucker were in the palm garden at the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens (on Centennial Dr east of the campus). Bo Soderstrom

20 September  In Berkeley, a Blackpoll Warbler was at Ohlone Park. From eastbound University Ave, turn left on Sacramento St. After 2 blocks, turn right on Hearst St. Park at Hearst & California, and take the small footpath across the park. Emily Strauss

19 September  In Richmond, an immature Little Blue Heron was on the Bayshore Trail just north of the Bayview Avenue access. Charles Sellers

9 September  In Richmond, the Harlequin Duck was still at the Richmond Marina at the end of Marina Way. Six Willow Flycatchers were at Miller-Knox Regional Shoreline. Steve Glover

9 September  At Tilden Regional Park, the Chestnut-sided Warbler was refound. From the end of the Nature Area parking lot, take the trail off to the right from the left side of the small roundabout. Look near a bench at the top of a small hill. Steve Glover

8 September  At Tilden Regional Park in the Berkeley Hills, a Chestnut-sided Warbler was at the end of the parking lot near the Nature Area entrance and best seen by looking down from the Packrat Trail [or the Memory Trail]. A probable Least Flycatcher was also in this area. Steve Glover
