25 April  In the Oakland Hills, a Townsend's Solitare was at 6511 Exeter Drive. John Luther

24 April  Southeast of Livermore, a Common Merganser flew along the creek [Arroyo Mocho] one-half mile south of the Del Valle Regional Park turnoff on Mines Road. Trent Orr

15 April  In Oakland, two Red-necked Grebes were on the west side of Lake Merritt, at the foot of Madison Street. Bob Brandriff

9 April  Five Wild Turkeys were at the south end of Sheridan Road, accessed from the top of the Sunol Grade on I-680. Yellow-billed Magpies are common in this area. Mike Feighner


CONTRA COSTA COUNTY

28 April  Six Black Terns were at the Clifton Court Forebay, near the spillway at the eastern side. A Surf Scoter was also in the Forebay, over the levee with fishing access. John Sterling

27 April  A Black Tern was over Clifton Court Forebay. From Hwy J-4 south of Byron, take Clifton Court Road east to its end. Light is best in the afternoon. A scope is required. Four or five male Calliope Hummingbirds, many Rufous Hummingbirds, Hermit Warblers, and four or five Hammond's Flycatchers were in Mitchell and White Canyons on Mount Diablo. Yellow-breasted Chat, Blue Grosbeak, and Black-chinned Hummingbird were all at Piper Slough at the north end of Bethel Island Road. Steve Glover

26 April  Rufous Hummingbird, Calliope Hummingbird, Costa's Hummingbird, a Sage Sparrow, and a Hermit Warbler were in Mitchell Canyon southwest of Clayton. Lisa Hug

26 April  One or two Rufous Hummingbirds were in White Canyon, and two Hermit Warblers were in upper Mitchell Canyon on Mount Diablo. Trent Orr

21 April  Two Dusky Flycatchers, ten Hammond's Flycatchers, several Nashville Warblers, several Black-throated Gray Warblers, a Hermit Warbler, Lazuli Buntings, Western Tanagers, two Golden Eagles, and three Cooper's Hawks were in Mitchell Canyon southwest of Clayton. Three or four each of Calliope Hummingbird and Rufous Hummingbird were in White Canyon, along with a "Plumbeous" Solitary Vireo and four or five "Cassin's" Solitary Vireos. Rich Stallcup

9 April  Migrants found along Morgan Territory Road between Clayton and Livermore included a Hammond's Flycatcher, a Nashville Warbler, a Black-throated Gray Warbler, and Black-headed Grosbeaks. Steve Glover
