24 August  In Berkeley, a Parasitic Jaeger flew over the Berkeley Marina at 6 PM, near the kite-flying area. James Good

2 August  In Hayward, a basic-plumaged Black Tern was at Hayward Regional Shoreline, just north of the Interpretive Center in the first large impoundment on the right. Joe Eaton

25 August  In Richmond, a juvenile Semipalmated Sandpiper was at the Richmond Sewer Ponds [west of Richmond Pkwy near Pittsburg Ave]. Steve Glover

24 August  In Richmond, a Marbled Murrelet and a jaeger sp. (probably Parasitic Jaeger) were seen from Shimada Friendship Park at the end of Marina Bay Pkwy. Lillian Fujii, fide Steve Glover

22 August  In Richmond, a Common Murre and a female Harlequin Duck were on the bay off the end of Marina Way, near Brooks Island. Steve Glover

9 & 10 August  In Richmond, a Costa's Hummingbird was coming to a feeder on the third floor at the end of the condominium 100 yards north of the intersection of Brickyard Cove Rd & Old Kiln Way. Jerry Daniel

3 August  In Orinda, a Long-eared Owl was calling at the Bear Creek entrance to Briones Regional Park. In the Berkeley Hills, 2 Grasshopper Sparrows were singing at Inspiration Point on the east edge of Tilden Regional Park. In Richmond, the male Harlequin Duck was still at Brooks Island. Two Wandering Tattlers were on the breakwater near the end of Marina Way, and a highly unseasonal Red-throated Loon was in the area. In eastern Contra Costa County at Piper Slough, near the north end of Bethel Island Rd, there still were Blue Grosbeaks, Yellow-breasted Chats, and Black-chinned Hummingbirds. Steve Glover
